CEDAR FALLS - Eleanor K. Warnke, 90, of Cherokee Village, Ark., formerly of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008 at home following a long illness.

She was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Buchanan County, daughter of Hillard and Ivaloo Belford Spragg. She married Arthur J. Warnke on June 25, 1936, in Independence. He preceded her in death Jan. 9, 1993.

She was a graduate of Hazleton High School. She was a nurse's aide at Schoitz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo for 23 years, retiring in 1981.

Survived by two daughters, Deonne Clemens of Cherokee Village and Pamela (Mike) Caldwell of Mount Vernon; five sons, Jerry of Virginia, Larry (Patsy) of Hardy, Ark., Jack (Deloris) of Jacksonville, Fla., and Dennis and Gordon (Lisa), both of Fullerton, Calif.; a son-in-law, Tony Barger of New Hartford; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Amy Martin of California and Ellen Hovey of Oklahoma City; and a brother, Walter Spragg of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Audrey in infancy and Nancy Heggebo; a son-in-law, Chris Clemens; a daughter-in-law, Loretta Warnke; twin grandchildren, Peggy and Paula Warnke in infancy; a sister, Marie Meihe; and six brothers, Harold, John, Leroy, Richard, Edward in infancy and a stillborn brother.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
