ZIKUDA, ABERG, LANGE, PUTH

WATERLOO - Kenneth C. "Ken" Zikuda, 70, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center after a brief illness.

He was born Feb. 17, 1942, in Cresco, son of William Charles and Dorothy Anne Aberg Zikuda. He married Karen D. Lange on May 30, 1970, at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, Waterloo.

Mr. Zikuda graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Army for four years, stationed in Germany. He worked for Deere & Co. for more than 30 years, retiring in 1996.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Andrew (Crystal) and Michael (Jean), both of Waterloo, and Jeffrey (Dawn) of Washburn; four grandchildren, Drake, Hanna, Hayleigh and Blaine; and a sister, Carol (Gus) Puth of Cadiz, Ky.

Preceded in death by an infant brother.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, with burial and full military honors by Becker Chapman American Legion Post 138 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1623 in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Ken loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed golfing, gardening, working jigsaw puzzles and model railroading.
