WATERLOO - Summer Rain Romans, 40, of Ankeny, formerly of Waterloo, Richmond, Va., Newark, Ohio, and Mineral Point, Wis., died Saturday, Feb. 18, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

She was born Nov. 27, 1971, in Pottstown, Pa., daughter of Robert D. and Mary M. Brink Brott. She married Gregory Bond Romans on Aug. 7, 1998, in Ellicott City, Md.

Mrs. Romans earned a bachelor's degree in education, taught preschool and designed a program used in primary education called Miss Summer's Program. She was a homemaker for the past six years.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Jonathan and Nicholas, both of Ankeny; her mother and stepfather, Mary and Steve Schmitt of Waterloo; a brother, Zachary Brott of Los Angeles; three sisters, Autumn, Amber and Bobbi Brott, all of Waterloo; six nieces and nephews; eight uncles and aunts; 11 cousins; and her father and mother-in-law, Larry and Beatrice Romans of Gaithersburg, Md.

Preceded in death by her father; her grandfather, John P. Brink; her grandmother, Katherine Parent; an aunt, Bettie Jo Brink; and a nephew, Zachary Terrence Brott.

Scripture service: 4 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with visitation beginning at 2 p.m.
