Allen Ackerson, 89 of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Prairie du Chien Hospital following a lingering illness.

There are no services planned at this time.

Allen was born Jan. 25, 1923, at New Hartford. He was the son of James and Alleen Baker Ackerson. On May 22, 1949, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Miller in Cedar Falls.

Allen worked as a machinist for 32 years at Chamberlain, retiring in 1984.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Prairie du Chien; two daughters, Deborah Goodin of Waterloo and Connie Strudthoff of Mount Pleasant, Texas; and three sons, Ronald, Jeffrey and Robert, all of Prairie du Chien.
