WATERLOO - Margaret A. Smith, 95, of Waterloo, formerly of Waterville, died Friday, Feb. 3, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 13, 1916, in Davenport, daughter of William and Inez Martelle Frank. She married Clarence Vorseth of Waterville, and he died in June 1972. She married Michael Smith, and he died in July 1991.

Survived by a son, Duane (Sue) Vorseth of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; a daughter, Betty (Roger) Butz of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Helen Bandel of California and Theresa Askelson of Spring Grove, Minn.

Preceded in death by a son, William Vorseth; four brothers, William, Jim, Paul and Tony Frank; and three sisters, Mary Wilson, Priscilla Bagnek and Anita Frank.

Memorial Services will be at a later date at Martin Funeral Home, Waukon.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Margaret enjoyed her family, farming, interior decorating and the Iowa Hawkeyes. She loved basketball, and her team was the first girls' basketball team in Allamakee County that went to the state tournament in Des Moines in 1934.
