F. SEUFFERLEIN DIES FOLLOWING BRIEF ILLNESS

Long time Resident of this Vicinity, Son of Pioneer Iowa Settlers

Fred Seufferlein, 79, a son of early settlers in this vicinity, died at his home, 1321 Main street, at 4:45 AM today. He has been seriously ill since December 8, with complications that followed an attack of influenza.

Mr. Seufferlein was born in Peru, Ill., April 5, 1854, and in that same year his parents moved to Iowa. They lived for a short time near Gilbertsville and then moved to a farm south of Cedar Falls.

In 1875 Mr. Seufferlein was married to Miss Sophie Messerly, and until 1918 they lived on a farm south of here. In that year Mr. Seufferlein retired, and he had since made his home at 1321 Main street.

He had been for many years an active member of the First Evangelical Church.

Surviving besides the widow are three daughters, Mrs. Wm. P. Greeley, Hudson; Mrs. Kemper McBride, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Frank Wood, route 2, Cedar Falls; and two sons, C. E. Seufferlein, Clearwater, Cal.; and J. I. Seufferlein, Cedar Falls. There is also one brother, Albert, of Walker, Iowa. There are 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
