WATERLOO - David Hershberger, 83, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Lakeview Landing.

He was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Waterloo, son of Floyd E. and Christine Fenton Hershberger. He married Cynthia Noyes on March 17, 1951, in Arlington Heights, Ill.

He received a bachelor's degree from Monmouth College, Monmouth, Ill. Mr. Hershberger was employed at Repass Auto, Hershberger DX as a partner, John Deere as a time study engineer and retired as a Realtor from Hershberger Realty.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Linda (John) Dolan of Madison, Wis., and Mary (Jeff) Gann of Dunkerton; a son, Jeff of Minneapolis; five grandchildren, Levi Kinsel and Margie (Bryan) Harper, both of Cedar Rapids, Ryan Dolan of Madison, Josh (Merrideth) Gann of Milwaukee and Spencer (Stacey) Gann of Waterloo; a great-grandchild, Olivia Gann of Milwaukee; and two great-granchildren on the way.

Preceded in death by his brother, Floyd.

Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Presbyterian Church, with private burial before services in Waterloo Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family will receive friends for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bethel Presbyterian Church.

David enjoyed music, woodworking and was involved with Habitat for Humanity, both in Iowa and Florida. We will all miss his sense of humor.
