James Richard Tucker was born August 26, 1910 in Rouleau, Saskatchewan, Canada the son of Chester Blaine and Christine (Richards) Tucker. He died Wednesday, January 6, 1999 at the Western Home Martin Center at the age of 88 years.

He married Dorothy Rollins April 24, 1954 in Waterloo, Iowa. James served in 315th Troop Carrier Division of the U.S. Army Air Force as a glider pilot during World War II. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1949 then worked for John Deere until his retirement in 1975 where he was an engineer.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Cedar Falls, one sister, Adelaide Belle Reed of Muncie, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Eneline Albert and Virginia Mitchell and one brother, Chester Everett Tucker.

Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 1999 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Garden of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund, the Western Home, or the Mayo Foundation in Rochester, Minnesota.
