WATERLOO, IOWA - Euterpa "Terp" Mae Hagedorn Thomas, 92, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Feb. 2, at Lakeview Landing of natural causes.

She was born August 2, 1919, in Garwin, daughter of August H. and Vinta May Ross Hagedorn. She married John R. Thomas July 18, 1939, in Fort Collins, Colo. He died Sept. 17, 2002.

She graduated from Traer High School in 1938. She was a member of Ripley United Church of Christ in Traer and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. She was a 55-year member of PEO Chapter EC in Traer and Chapter LO in Waterloo.

Survived by three daughters, Suzanne (Duane) Lewis of Waterloo, Candace Thomas Kless of Geneva, Ill., and Cheri (Gary) Cederlund of Waterloo; a son, John of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie Chappell of Evansdale, Barbara Dedic of Traer and Betty (Allen) Gibson of Raymond; and a brother, Rex (Lavere) Hagedorn.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Ewing Lehmeier.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Buckingham Cemetery, Traer. Public visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, Westminster Presbyterian Church or Ripley United Church of Christ.

Terp spent her life totally devoted to her family. A great cook who is remembered as making excellent fruit pies. Terp was the eternal optimist who enjoyed traveling and had a strong faith in God.
