WATERLOO - George Arthur Baker, 67, of Waterloo, died January 15, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab.

He was born May 10, 1944, in Des Moines, son of Bernard and Coral Baker. He married Mary Paulette Montgomery June 12, 1965.

He graduated from Waterloo East High School. Mr. Baker was owner of Baker Montgomery White Insurance Co. in Waterloo.

Survived by his wife; a son, John S. Baker of Minneapolis; a daughter, Susan (Mell) Underwood of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a brother, Allen (Marilyn) of Ormond Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Brooke, Cameron and Matthew Underwood.

Memorial service will be held in the spring. Family and friends will be notified. Locke Funeral Home assisted the family.

He enjoyed visiting his son in Minneapolis, watching Cyclone football and basketball, supporting George Bush(s), visiting his grandchildren in Arizona, and playing with his cat, Sophie. He will be missed by all who knew him.
