Gary Lee Andersen of Waterloo, Iowa, formerly of Waverly and Charles City, Iowa died December 24, 2004 at his home.

Gary was born on December 18, 1945 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Peter and Pauline Brockway Andersen. He attended school in Cedar Falls and graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1964. After high school he worked in the Cedar Falls and Waverly area. He was united in marriage to Diane Anderson on April 20, 1968 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple owned and operated the Fina gas station in Waverly. Gary and Diane were later divorced. He worked for Anderson-Erickson Dairy for 17 years and had worked at All States Quality Foods in Charles City until he was unable to work due to disability.

He enjoyed bowling, golfing, watching sports, especially the Vikings. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Dan)Andersen-Pollard of Waverly, Iowa; three sons, Todd Andersen (Heather Johnston) of Sumner, Iowa; Matt Andersen of Waverly, Iowa; and Josh Andersen (fiance Autumn Parmeter) of Tripoli, Iowa; five grandchildren, Kanessa, Caleb and Sarah Pollard; Bradly Andersen and Amanda Johnston.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Mark.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at 2:00 pm at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, Iowa with Pastor Nate Frazee officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
