Patrick H. Sullivan, 74, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Monday, July 1, 2002, at Covenant Medical Center from complications of cancer.

Patrick was born on September 9, 1927, in Bone Lake, Wisconsin, the son of John and Frances Sullivan. He and his wife, JoAnn, were married on October 6, 1967, in Missouri.

Mr. Sullivan graduated from Waverly High School in 1945. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1948 and was serving as Instrumentalist and First Sergeant of the 685th AF Band at Vance AF Base in Oklahoma upon his separation in 1952. He was employed with H & H Machine Tool Company of Cedar Falls as purchasing agent for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He was currently working part-time as purchasing agent for Automation Technology in Waterloo. He was extremely active and proud of his membership in Cedar Falls Amvets Post 49. He was a Past Commander of the Post and was currently serving as President of the Board of Trustees.

Patrick is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Cedar Falls; one son, Mike Sullivan of Pennsylvania; one daughter, Kariann Voigts and her husband Adam of Indianola; one stepdaughter, Gail Emmert and her husband Jerry of Waverly; two stepsons, Kevin Sullivan and his wife Penny of West Des Moines, Brian Sullivan and his wife Jolene of Waverly; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Boomgarden of Nashua; four brothers, Tim Sullivan of Waverly, John Sullivan of Nashua, Jerry Sullivan of Odessa, Missouri, and Bob Sullivan of Shell Rock.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2002, at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Nathan N. Frazee officiating. Burial will be held at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. with the family present to greet friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:30 P.M. Memorials may be directed to the family.
