Paul E. Theis, 98, of the Cedar Falls Health Care Center, formerly of Janesville, Iowa, died on Thursday, February 14, 2002 at the Health Care Center of natural causes.

Paul was born on November 27, 1903 in Riceville, Iowa, the son of John and Mary Kirst Theis. He graduated from Riceville High School and then attended the Minneapolis School of Law graduating with a law degree. After school he worked with various pharmacies in the Minneapolis area.

On September 23, 1938 he was united in marriage to Margaret Kendall in Decorah, Iowa. After their marriage Paul worked for Chamberlain Manufacturing, until the couple became owners of the Kendall Store in Janesville, Iowa, which they operated for over 30 years.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kay Kiene and her husband Ken, of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Paula Cole and her husband Jim, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, two grandchildren, Karla Nielsen and her husband, Ben of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Klay Kiene, and his fiancé, Laura Mueller, of Palatine, Illinois, one great grandchild, Cody Nielsen, of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret in 1990, four brothers, Leonard, Melbourne, Francis and Harry.

Private family graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2002 at the Oakland Cemetery, Janesville with Rev. Mike Tauke officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm on Saturday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, (352-1187).
