WATERLOO - Lucinda E. Mirs, 87, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Allen Hospital.

She was born July 6, 1924, in Readlyn, daughter of Louis and Anna Zabel Hinrichs. She married Paul "Jack" Mirs on Dec. 23, 1945, in Readlyn. He died April 1, 1999.

Mrs. Mirs was employed with Rath Packing Co., Hinson Manufacturing Co. and Waterloo Tent and Awning, retiring in 1989.

Survived by a daughter, Sandy (Dale) McKiney of Waterloo; a son-in-law, Lewis Brotherton of Polk City; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Leona Flynn of Waterloo; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Mirs and Dorothy Mirs.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Brotherton on Oct. 14, 2011; and two brothers, Howard Hinrichs and an infant.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
