SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Doris Maree Hayes Peek of Waterloo passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011. She was born May 27, 1921.

She attended Waterloo East High School where she met her future husband, Graydon Peek. They worked together at Rath Packing Co. After an honorable and distinguished service in the U.S. military by Graydon, they married on Feb. 16, 1946, in Independence.

They relocated to Santa Monica in 1985 and have lived there since. Doris was a loving wife, mother, terrific neighbor and loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Graydon, and their daughter, Debra Peek.

Services were Wednesday, Jan. 18, at First Methodist Church, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, both in Santa Monica. Memorials may be made directly to First Methodist Church of Santa Monica, 1008 11th St., Santa Monica, CA 90403
