Hudson Girl
Is Killed
By Pickup

HUDSON - A three-year-old Hudson girl was dead on arrival at Schoitz Hospital Tuesday night after she was struck by a pickup truck.

Iowa Highway Patrol said Lisa Quackenbush received a skull fracture when she ran across the street into the path of a pickup truck driven by Kenneth Robert Bixby, 32, of Hudson at 7:20 p.m.

The driver told the patrol he did not see the girl enter the street.

Services for Lisa will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church with the pastor, the Rev. John W. Sime, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Harold Quackenbush, 315 Sunset Road, Hudson; two brothers, Don Russell, 9, and Jon LeRoy, 7; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Quackenbush, Traer; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Busch of 213 W. 10th St., Waterloo; the paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Quackenbush of Traer; and the maternal great-grandfather, William Pike of Lincoln, Iowa.

Friends may call at the Dykeman Hudson Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. Wednesday and those who wish may make a memorial to the church in lieu of flowers.
