Funeral services for Avery James Smith, five months old of Waterloo, Iowa will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway in Waterloo, Iowa with burial in the Mount Olivet Cemetery on June 18.

Avery James Smith, son of Trent and Mary (Dean) Smith, was born January 4, 2009 in Waterloo, Iowa. Avery died Monday, June 15, 2009 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Anna Dean, maternal great-grandmother, Joan Christensen and paternal great-grandparents, Charles Weidman, and Robert and Connie Smith.

Avery is survived by his parents, Trent and Mary Smith of Waterloo, Iowa, a sister, Madison Smith; his maternal grandparents, James and Barbara Dean of Waterloo, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Bruce Smith and Rhonda Smith, both of Waterloo, Iowa; maternal great-grandfather, Donald Christensen of Waterloo, Iowa, and paternal great-grandmother, Patricia Weidman also of Waterloo, Iowa.
