Gertrude Ellen Morgan, 90, of Parkview Gardens Care Center, died Thursday, Dec. 14, at Parkview Gardens Care Center of complications of age.

She was born March 17, 1899, in Independence, daughter of John and Ellen Winners Casteel. She married George D. Morgan on Sept. 15, 1915, at Independence. He died in 1976.

She worked at Rath Packing Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1960.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lewis Hare of 850 Dawson St.; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great grandchildren; a brother Gerald Casteel of Waterloo; and two sisters, Sarah Azbill of Evansdale arid Genevieve Burk.

She was preceded in death by two grandsons, two brothers, and four sisters.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 9 tonight and from 9 a.m. Monday until services.
