STOVER, STROSAHL, COULTER, MEYER

Dean Stover died Saturday, May 19, 2007 at his home in Cedar Falls.

He was born April 12, 1924 in Conrad, Iowa, the son of Merle and Mabel Strosahl Stover.
On October 10, 1944 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Coulter in Hampton, Virginia. She preceded him in death on December 3, 1997.

Dean served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He had been Post Commander of the American Legion from 1992 to 1993. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and also a life member of Disabled American Veterans. Dean was a member of AMVETS Post 49 in Cedar Falls, as well as AMVETS Post in Conrad, Iowa.

Dean had been employed as Director of Public Affairs with the Army Reserve in Waterloo, and then worked for the Social Security Administration until retiring in 1980. He enjoyed playing piano, and would play weekly at many of the area Care Centers.

Dean is survived by two sons, Gary of Cedar Falls and Terry (Mary Ann) of Longmont, Colorado; a daughter, Mary Anne Meyer of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Heidi Meyer of Waterloo and Joshua and Megan Stover of Longmont; a great grandson, Jacob Meyer of Waterloo; and a brother Kent (Arlene) of Hico, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Larry D. Stover; and three brothers, Kindon, Donald and Robert.
