Olive N. Yokom (1906-2007)

CEDAR FALLS- Olive Yokom, 100, died Thursday, May 24, at Western Home Communities Martin Center.

She was born December 19, 1906, in Fulda, MN, daughter of George and Etta Roberts Baldwin. She married Clark Yokom on January 4, 1924 in Waterloo. He died December 7, 1961.

Mrs. Yokom owned and operated Yokom Quarry in Finchford with her husband, and was the bookkeeper there.

Survivors include: her daughter, Maxine (Merle) Belz of Cedar Falls; a daughter-in-law, Judy Yokom of Janesville; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Ruth) Baldwin of New Boston, IL; and a sister, Dora June Doud of California.

Preceded in death by: her husband; a son, Robert Yokom; four brothers, Alfred, Leeon, Eugene, and Roger; two sisters, Grace Aldrich and Viola Collins; and a granddaughter, Karen Hansen.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Finchford Community Bible Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Home. Visitation also for one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
