Charlotte M. Olson, 87, of Cedar Falls died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. Charlotte was born May 12, 1917 in Waukon, Iowa the daughter of Ole & Ottilia (Bryhn) Glemstad.

She married Robert A. Olson January 2, 1942 at Blanchardville, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death March 8, 2002.

Charlotte attended Waukon High School, Waukon Junior College and Upper Iowa University in Fayette. She taught in rural and town schools for five years, was employed by the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home for five years, was a department manager at W. T. Grant in Black Hawk Village for ten years and was co-owner/operator with her husband of Swiss Colony Franchises until her retirement in 1988.

Survivors include two sons, Robert (Linda) Olson, Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Verne (Phyllis) Olson of Overland Park, Kansas; two daughters, Lynn Olson of Wellsburg, Iowa and Ann Bercher of Minneapolis, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Leslie, Karen, Christopher, Benjamin, Andrew, Michaela and Rebecca; and two great grandchildren, Logan and Branden-Michael.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one grandson, Michael Olson.

Memorial services were 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2005 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel with private inurnment in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.
