WATERLOO - John S. Regas, 70, of Waterloo, formerly of Chicago, died Saturday, Jan. 7, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 5, 1941, in Chicago, son of Sam and Agnes Manglaris Regas. He married Demetra Strompolos, and they later divorced. He later married Linda Matthais on April 17, 1999, in Waterloo.

Mr. Regas attended Southern Illinois University. He worked in management at the Chicago Fish House, retiring in 1995.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Christin (Bryan) O'Shaughnessy of Ashburn, Va.; two sons, Terry of Chicago and Matthew (Jennifer) Regas of Lenexa, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Erin Matthais of Readlyn and April (David) Doyle of Evansdale; eight grandchildren, Oliver and Lilly O'Shaughnessy, John and Alexa Regas, Clayton and Adrian Doyle and James and Johnmichael Lancaster; and a sister, Sia (Mickey) Weyrauch of Barrington, Ill.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, followed by cremation. Visitation from 11 a.m. until services Tuesday at the funeral home.
