DUNKERTON - Floyd L. Turner, 87, of Canyon City, Colo., formerly of Dunkerton, died Thursday, Jan. 5, at his home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Dunkerton, son of Henry George Turner and Roberta Lydia "Ruby" McMillin Turner. He married Alberta Jean Wiedman Nov. 24, 1946, at Grace Brethren Church in Waterloo.

He graduated from Dunkerton High School, and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Flint in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Turner owned and operated Northeast Iowa Silo Co. in Dunkerton, and opened and operated Coast to Coast Hardware Stores in Indianola and Glenwood Springs, Colo.

Survived by his wife; three daughters, Linda (Dr. James) Robinson of Cedar Falls, Sue (John) Graham of Manitou Springs, Colo., and Sharon (Ahmad) Gharyani of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; two sons, David (Sharon) of Fairbank and Burt (Rose) of Florence, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Theodore of Waterloo, Dr. Robert (Karen) of Albuquerque, N.M., and Ronnie (Agie) of Springfield, Ill.; and a sister, Ruby (Bruce) Schroeder of Whitewater, Wis.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Richard.

Graveside services: 11:00 Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery, Dunkerton, with military rites conducted by Peter Kress American Legion Post 636 of Dunkerton.

Memorials may be directed to the Peter Kress American Legion Post 636 in Dunkerton or Cedar Valley Hospice.
