WATERLOO - Marlene Mary Young, 71, of Waterloo, died at home Wednesday, Dec. 28, of natural causes.

She was born June 8, 1940, in Arlington, daughter of Clifford and Phyllis Welch Burget. She married Sherman Moore, and they later divorced. She married Donald C. "Tiny" Young on May 29, 1958, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He died Sept. 2, 2009.

Mrs. Young was a cook for many years and also drove dragsters.

Survived by three daughters, Carletta (Dale) Ginther of Hazleton and Alisa Thomas and Jean (Jerome) Wilson, both of Waterloo; four sons, Dion (Maxine Moore) Moore of Hazleton, Stuart (Bobbie) and Brock (Suzanne) Young, both of Waterloo, and Jesse (Jolonna) Young of Minnesota; 40 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirell Cain and Michelle Rose; and two brothers, Paul (Carrol) and Craig (Nancy) Coventry.

Preceded in death by three grandchildren; a great-grandson; a son-in-law, Philip Houston; a sister, Rena Young; and a brother, Stuart Coventry.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Celebration First Assembly of God Church, followed by cremation. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the family, where they will receive friends at 430 Bratnober St.
