EVANSDALE - Lois L. Shepard, 87, of Evansdale, died Thursday, Dec. 22, at Country View care center, Waterloo, from Alzheimer's disease.

She was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Independence, daughter of Lloyd and Irene Miller Harkness. She married Lloyd E. Shepard on July 30, 1955, in Jesup.

Mrs. Shepard was a homemaker. She also was a member of Grace Bible Church in Evansdale, now Grace Baptist Church in Waterloo, where she was a Sunday school teacher.

Survived by her husband; a son, Paul (Carol) Bandfield of Dunkerton; two daughters, Mary (Ralph) Bandfield Tempel of Waterloo and Debbie Shepard of Evansdale; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Renabell Trainor of Evansdale and Wanda McGraw of Minnesota.

Preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, an infant and K.B. Harkness; a sister, Thelma Roberts; and a granddaughter, Tonya Schleusner.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
