WATERLOO - Gregory August Golinvaux, 83, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Dec. 18, at NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls.

He was born July 7, 1928, in Waterloo, son of Dr. N.A. and Clare B. Hau Golinvaux. He married Nancy A. Kelly on Nov. 21, 1953, in Waterloo.

Mr. Golinvaux graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy and the University of Northern Iowa. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as an accountant at the Waterloo Register Co. and later owned and operated a Flowerama Store, Overland Park, Kan., retiring in 1985.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Richard of Lynn Valley, Kan., and Donald of Waterloo; two daughters, Linda (Bryce) Nikkel of Council Bluffs and Susan (Dale) Hughson of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louis (Linda) of Phoenix and Robert (Janet) of Joliet, Ill.; two sisters, Mary Beth Koch of Waterloo and Mildred Dunn of Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Hansen of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Jean Pint and Lois Hansen.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
