Funeral services were held at 1:30 PM Friday at the Community Church at Hudson for a long time resident who passed away Tuesday, July 4 at Woodlawn Convalescent home in Waterloo. She was Mrs. Grace E. Baldwin, 86, a resident of Hudson since 1893. She had been in failing health or several years and had been at Woodlawn a year.

The Rev. A. Edward Strang officiated and burial was in the Hudson Cemetery. The casket was taken from the Locke Funeral Home to the church at noon.

Mrs. Baldwin was born at Eagle Center May 10, 1875, the daughter of Heran and Elizabeth Long Eighmey. She was married Fred C. Baldwin May 2, 1894 at Hudson.

Mrs. Baldwin heads her over 30 years as Hudson correspondence for the Waterloo Daily Courier before retiring a few years ago.

She attended Gates Business College and was a member of the Hudson Community Church, the Mission Circle, Tuesday Study Club and a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 50 years. The Tuesday Study Club and the Rebeccas attended the services in a group and the Rebecca Lodge had a graveside ceremony.

Survivors include one son, Rodney A. Baldwin, Forsyth, Montana; one daughter, Mrs. Marge Foster, Cedar Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Mabel E. Hollis, 1502 Hammond Avenue; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

One grandchild, Shirley Patterson made her home with Mrs. Baldwin through high school until her marriage to A. B. Thompson of Cleveland, Ohio.

Mrs. Baldwin was preceded by her parents, husband and four brothers.
