CEDAR FALLS - Elsie F. McDonald, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center.

She was born May 13, 1922, in Traer, daughter of Anton and Anna Chizek Moravec. She married Claude McDonald on Nov. 6, 1945, in Omaha, Neb. He died Feb. 21, 1985.

Mrs. McDonald was a cook at the Janesville Cafe for several years, retiring in 1987.

Survived by two sons, Larry (Lonna) Moravec of Marshalltown and Claude (Sharon) McDonald of Janesville; a daughter, Rose (Garland) Diesburg of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by three brothers, John, Anton and Tony Moravec; and two sisters, Rose Dieleman and Agnes Thompson.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Oakland Cemetery, Janesville. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial fund will be established.
