CEDAR FALLS - Doreen "Dee" Weber Maucker, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Western Home Communities-Windhaven.

She was born June 22, 1918, in Rishton, England, daughter of John and Edith Ratcliffe Whalley. She married Harold Weber Jan. 29, 1943, in Greenville, Minn. He died Jan. 2, 1983. She married Dr. J.W. "Bill" Maucker May 12, 1993, in Nisswa, Minn. He died July 5, 2005.

She attended University of South Dakota in Vermillion, and received a bachelor's degree in music education from Hamilton University in St. Paul, Minn., in 1940. She also did graduate work at McPhail School of Music in Minneapolis, receiving a degree in public school music. Mrs. Maucker taught English and music in South Dakota, New Hartford and Waterloo, and later worked in guidance in the Waterloo Community School District.

Survived by a son, John "Doug" (Linda) Weber of Lakewood, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Major Valarie A. (Jesse) Long USAF and Bryce M. (Jennifer) Weber.

Preceded in death by three sons, Robert, Fred and Rick Weber; and a brother, Fred Whalley.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation will be held for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
