WATERLOO - Yvonne M. "Bonnie" Meyer, 86, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Nov. 24, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Harpers Ferry, daughter of Julius and Adeline Burke Boardman. She married Merlin Meyer May 27, 1947, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dubuque. He died June 10, 2002.

She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque in 1942, and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing with an RN degree in 1946. Mrs. Meyer was an RN at Mercy, Xavier and Finley Hospitals in Dubuque, and private practice. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she helped during Fall Festival.

Survived by two daughters, Heidi (Doug King) Ehlers of Waterloo and Mimi (Mark Swyers) of Cedar Falls; a son-in-law, Scott Evans of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Heather (Chris) Wells of Cedar Falls; two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Maegan Wells; and three sisters, Shirley (Gene) Campbell of Fort Worth, Texas, Madonna Fairfield of Keokuk and Lynn Milroy of East Dubuque, Ill.

Preceded in death by a son, Gregory; a daughter, Nikki Evans; and a brother, James Boardman.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, with a 3:30 p.m. rosary.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading books and magazines, decorating her home and gardening.
