WATERLOO - Harry L. Teare, 80, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, at home.

He was born March 4, 1931, in Waterloo, son of Harry C. and Clara I. Noble Teare. He married Retha Stacey March 6, 1965, in Minnesota. She died March 25, 2008.

Mr. Teare was a welder with Construction Machinery until his retirement.

Survived by a son, Toby (Carol) of Waterloo; a daughter, Barbara (John) Celaya of Payson, Ariz.; two stepsons, Michael Wood of Michigan and Robert (Rene) Wood of North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Teri (Andy) TeBockhorst of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah; and two grandsons, Jimmy Clay and Jeff Clay.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at New Beginnings First Wesleyan Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway. Visitation will also be held for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
