WATERLOO - Rose Marie Nissen, 84, of Waterloo, died at home Thursday, Nov. 17.

She was born May 31, 1927, in Sturgis, S.D., daughter of Thomas and Catherine Kearney Finn. She married Harry E. Nissen on Oct. 2, 1948, in Waterloo. He died Dec. 16, 2003.

Mrs. Nissen worked at Rath Packing Co. for three years and then as a nurse's aide at Allen Hospital for 10 years.

Survived by two sons, Dennis (Lanita) and Russell, both of Waterloo; a daughter, Theresa "Teri" Matson of Waterloo; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas Finn of Overland Park, Kan.

Preceded in death by three brothers, James, Harold and Patrick; two sisters, Maxine Bergstrom and Mary Davis; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Nissen.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church.
