CEDAR FALLS - Betty L. "Beth" Tomanka, 73, of Cedar Falls, died at home Monday, Nov. 7.

She was born March 22, 1938, in Decorah, daughter of Telford and Agnes Solem Barth. She married Gordon Alex Berg in February 1958 in Minnesota. He died Sept. 3, 1964. She married Donald Tomanka Sr. on Sept. 19, 1970, in Chicago.

Mrs. Tomanka graduated from Capri Beauty School. She was a beautician in Cedar Rapids from 1962 to 1971, worked at Les Dolls Boutique in Waterloo and also worked in the floral department at the Cedar Falls Hy-Vee Store.

Survived by her husband; three sons, Donald Jr. (Vicky) Tomanka of Marion, Scott (Shelly) Berg of Modesto, Calif., and Ronald (Terri) Tomanka of Mansfield, Texas; two daughters, Pam (Brad) Myhr of Waterloo and Connie Trout of Marion; nine grandchildren, Britt (Anya) Myhr, Katie Berg, Dirk (Beth) Myhr, Deserae (Michael) Paige, Trent Berg, Taylor Tomanka, Taryn Tomanka, Turner Tomanka and Jake Tomanka; and seven great-grandchildren, Devin, Jesse, Alexander, Aaden, Annaleis, Luke and Zoey.

Preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Miles Trout; a great-grandson, Dane Aaden Myhr; and a brother, Wayne Barth.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Cedar Valley Hospice.

Beth was a very loving and giving woman who will be greatly missed by her family.
