Ruby E. Carlson, 92, of rural Cedar Falls, died Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

Ruby was born June 27, 1914 in Dunkerton, Iowa, the son of Ruby & Josephine (Miller) Carlson. He married Jean Miller June 27, 1947 in Cedar Falls. She preceded him in death March 23, 1997.

Ruby served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was farmer his entire life.

Survivors include three sons, David and Alan (Shiela) Carlson of Waterloo and Shawn (Emily) Carlson of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Chad, Joe, and Jennifer Carlson; ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Florence Myszka of Cedar Falls.

Mr. Carlson was preceded in death by his wife; one great granddaughter, Analeigh Carlson; three brothers, Lester, Ralph, and Russell Carlson; and one sister, Bess Myszka.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Washington Chapel United Methodist Church with interment in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Public visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday.
