Mary Catherine Bruhn, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, May 11, 2007, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

She was born July 2, 1923 near Lawler, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Agnes (Martin) Finnegan. She married Holgar H. Bruhn on August 13, 1947 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1985.

Mary attended Lawler schools and graduated from the Mercy Hospital Nursing Program in Iowa City, Iowa. She was a nurse at several Waterloo hospitals and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.

Survivors include two sons, Tom (Mary) Bruhn of West Des Moines, Iowa and John Bruhn of Leewood, Kansas; a daughter, Carol Ann (Marty) Dial, of Omaha, Nebraska; a grandson, Ryan Dial, of Denver, Colorado; a brother, Clem Finnegan, of Sebastopol, California, and a sister, Delores Finnegan, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a sister-in-law, Monica Finnegan, and a daughter-in-law, Carol Marsh.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
