WATERLOO - Michael Joseph Sevey, 48, of Kewaunee, Wis., formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Oct. 21, at Bellin Memorial Hospital of melanoma.

He was born Sept. 20, 1963, in Waterloo, son of DeWayne Sevey and Lynn Gordish.

He graduated from Central High School in Waterloo in 1982. Mr. Sevey served in the U.S. Navy from 1984-92, serving on nuclear submarines. He worked at Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant, retiring due to illness.

Survived by two daughters, Leah of Green Bay, Wis., and Andrea (Tyler) of Kewaunee; two granddaughters, Ava and Madalyn; his father, DeWayne (friend, Shirley McCrea) of Loveland, Colo.; a brother, Gary; and the mother of his children, Lynne of Kewaunee.

Preceded in death by his mother, Lynn; and a brother, Robert.

Services: 7 p.m. Monday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee, with military rites. A private burial will be held in Riverview Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the Bellin Cancer Team for the great care and concern that they gave Michael during his illness. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and outdoor activities.
