WATERLOO - Marian Antoinette Bremer, 90, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Sept. 18, at Manor Care Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Sept. 14, 1921, in rural Cedar Falls, daughter of Julius Albert and Dagmar Kathryn Holm Petersen. She married Herbert Albert Bremer Jan. 17, 1942, in Tripoli. He died Aug. 4, 2004.

She graduated from Frederika High School in 1940. Mrs. Bremer was a homemaker and former Girl Scout leader.

Survived by two daughters, Sharlene A. (George) Schmitz of Waterloo and Karen M. (Duane) Stonerook of Clarence; a son-in-law, Burton Maurer of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren, Julie (Paul) Terry, Andy (Sara) Schmitz, Brett (Jessica) Maurer, Darrin Maurer, Jason (Kim) Stonerook and Justin Stonerook; nine great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ally Terry, Jacob, Zachary, Lauren and Ashlyn Schmitz, Brodie and Caden Maurer and Abby Stonerook; and two brothers, Maynard A. and Vernon E. Petersen, both of Dike.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Judy K. Maurer; a sister, Gladys Bahlmann; and three brothers, Ervin, Arthur and Milford Petersen.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
