Linda K. (Boltz) Luck, 60, of New Hartford, Iowa, passed away Friday, February 20, 2009, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. She was born June 22, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer and Sara (Marter) Boltz. Linda was a graduate of Waterloo West High School. On June 10, 1967 Linda was united in marriage with Clyde Luck Sr at the United Methodist Church in New Hartford. Linda married the love of her life. Clyde was in the air force so off to Germany they went where they welcomed a baby boy the following year.

Once back in Iowa they welcomed a baby girl. The couple made their home in rural New Hartford. Linda was apprehensive about the move, but soon adjusted and always told everyone this was our home and she was never going to move from here. Linda took great pride in their home and the outside flowers and decorations.

In 1986 Linda started a day care out of their home. For many years children came and went all touching a piece of her heart with loving memories. She was also a member of New Hartford United Methodist Church and Geyer-Bickner American Legion Post 0660 Auxiliary in New Hartford. In May 2002, when Clyde decided to retire Linda also retired from day care, so they could spend their time going to flea markets, garage sales, antiquing, working on their flowers and yard work at home. Linda and Clyde were always together-they were inseparable as they enjoyed their days of retirement.

Linda and Clyde took a yearly vacation for garage sales in Missouri and Arkansas, where they always spotted an extra sale and Clyde had to make a three point turn on the highway to get back and see what treasures they could find. One of the sales was 160 miles long which they covered in three days. After 41 years of being together each trip was always an adventure of fun for them no matter where they went

Linda was the heart of the family. She always put her family first. She was always there to listen, offer advise and give help to her children. She was such a loving and caring wife, mother and grandma. Linda's passing has left a deep hole in our hearts that will know need to be filled with memories, photos and stories.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde Luck, Sr., of New Hartford; a son, Clyde (Carla) Luck, Jr., of Waverly, Iowa; a daughter, Michele Luck (partner Lonnie Tillman), of New Hartford; two grandchildren, Chad and Conor Luck, of Waverly; her step-father, Arnold Ray, of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Marlys (Andrew) Hogenkamp, of Shell Rock; a brother-in-law, Jerry Livingston, of Parkersburg, Iowa; special friends, Kathy (John) Lange of Waterloo, and Callie, Judy (Duane) Gifford of New Hartford; and several cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and friends.
