WATERLOO - Patricia Ann Hawker, 83, of Waterloo, formerly of Dubuque, died Saturday, Sept. 3, at Allen Hospital.

She was born May 10, 1928, in Dyersville, daughter of George and Anna Kramer Whitehead. She married LaMoine "Bud" Hawker on Nov. 27, 1946, in St. Francis Basilica, Dyersville. He died Aug. 17, 2001.

Mrs. Hawker was employed with Arenz Shoes, Dubuque, for 25 years, then moved to Waterloo in 2002. She was a member of Nativity Parish, Dubuque, and in recent years, Queen of Peace Church, Waterloo.

Survived by two sons, Craig (Diana) of Waterloo and Randy (DJ) of Palmdale, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Michelle (Jim) Spencer, Chad Hawker, Cheri (Charlie) Payne, Julie (Joe) Cummings, Angie (Jim) Markham, Jennifer Asleson, Craig Grebner, Christy (Bob) Kalous, Shilo (Bob) Vigil and Tyana Hawker; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Ziegler of Slidell, La.; her special family, Leslie Slover; and her dog, Shazzy.

Preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" Whitehead; and a brother-in-law, Ed Ziegler.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Waterloo, with burial at 2 p.m. in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Earlville. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. Legion of Mary rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society or Disabled Veterans.

Patricia's biggest joy in life was her family. She loved painting, jewelry making, trips to California, her many friendships, and Bridges Senior Living, where she had spent her last years.
