CEDAR FALLS - Scott Edward Bender, 42, of Waterloo, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Aug. 25, in a motorcycle/motor vehicle accident at the corner of C57 and Highway 218.

He was born Aug. 22, 1969, in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of Paul William and Patricia Lee Keaton Bender. He married Rene Nguyen Aug. 23, 1997, in Chicago. They later divorced.

Mr. Bender received his associate's degree in industrial design technology from the Art Institute in Pittsburgh. Mr. Bender and Rene Nguyen were founders of Form-I Design in Waverly.

Survived by a son, Adam of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Alexandria of Cedar Falls; his parents of Murrysville, Pa.; two sisters, Audrey (Dennis) O'Hara of Apollo, Pa., and Caroline (Justin) Trettel of Zelienople, Pa.; his paternal grandmother, Mary Bender of Harrison City, Pa.; and maternal grandmother, Caroline Keaton of Plum, Pa.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Prairie Lakes Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Vaia Cemetery, Delmont, Pa. Public visitation from noon until service time Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Rene Bender for their children's education fund.
