WATERLOO — Elizabeth J. “Beth” Huffman, 54, of Waterloo, died Friday, Aug. 19, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

She was born Oct. 31, 1956, in Des Moines, daughter of Ralph and Minetta Patton Fisher. She married Lee Huffman on May 26, 1993, in Eureka Springs, Ark.

Mrs. Huffman graduated from Des Moines East High School and Central Christian College, Pella, with a degree in teaching. She received her real estate license in 2005 and worked with Becker Realty. In 2006, she worked with Deeds Realty and Wolf Realty. From 2007 to present she was with Four Seasons Realtors.

Survived by her husband; a stepson, Andy Huffman of Waterloo; a stepdaughter, Lori (Kenny) Reuter of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Austin and Ashlyn Huffman of Waterloo and Justin (Amy Spratt) and Kelsey Reuter of Waterloo; a great-grandchild, Ryen Reuter of Waterloo; her mother-in-law, Thelma Huffman of Waterloo; a brother, Bill Fisher of Des Moines; a niece, Felicia Fisher of Des Moines; and a great-niece, Emily Fisher of Des Moines.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for anhour before services Tuesday at the church.

Beth volunteered as a commissioner of Waterloo Commission of Human Rights, Family and Children’s Council Board of Directors, Homebuyer Education Instructor with Operation Threshold, Cedar Valley Housing Coalition, and facilitator for Junior Achievement, and Brain Injury Association of NE Iowa. She served on the following committees of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Board of Realtors – Equal Opportunity & Rules Comm., Community Involvement Comm., Political Affairs Comm., and Technology Comm.

Beth had a passion for the art of Middle Eastern Dancing where she taught classes in Des Moines and was active in classes at the YWCA in Waterloo. She enjoyed culinary arts and marksmanship firearms.
