WATERLOO - Marguerite Anna Wilharm, 92, of Waterloo, died Monday, Aug. 8, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born Dec. 18, 1918, in Eagle Center, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Klein Brustkern. She married Robert Wilharm on Aug. 9, 1939, in Gilbertville.

Mrs. Wilharm worked for the Waterloo Community School System from 1963 to 1973. She was a partner in Brown-Wilharm Shoes from 1951 to 1970. She and her husband owned and operated Bob Wilharm Shoes from 1970 until retiring in 1983. She was a charter member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, a member of the Resurrection Choir, Covenant Medical Center Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Survived by her husband; three sons, James of Spokane Valley, Wash., Jerald (Kathy) of Maryville, Tenn., and Ronald of Tracy; a daughter, Carol (Mike) Kain of Puyallup, Wash.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leo (Wilma) and Garald (Betty) Brustkern, both of La Porte City, and Peter (Theresa) Brustkern of Jesup; and a sister, Marjorie Schwickerath of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a sister, Marie Thiry; two brothers, Melvin and Alvin Brustkern; and a great-granddaughter, Angel Doede.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
