Funeral services for Mark Allen Pederson, age 49, of Waverly, Iowa, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, were held on Friday, July 14, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Memories West in Waterloo, Iowa. Rev. Dearl Thomas of the Cedar Valley Community Church in Waterloo, Iowa officiated at the services. Casket bearers were Nathan Dalzeil, John Pederson, Josh Hogan, Daniel Penn, Matt Pederson, Ben Schiess, David Penn, and Vance Hartline. Interment was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa with the Becker-Chapman Post 138 American Legion, and Waterloo Post 1623 Veterans of Foreign Wars participating in the flag folding ceremony.

Mark Alan Pederson, son of Ezra and Mary (Perin) Pederson, was born March 1, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa. Mr. Pederson was a 1969 graduate of Waterloo West High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He had been employed at John Deere since 1974. On July 27, 1985, Mark married Susan E. Kobriger.

Mark Alan Pederson died Monday, July 10, 2000 at his home. He was preceded in death by his father.

Mark is survived by his wife, Susan; a son Joshua Pederson from a previous marriage, of Evansdale, Iowa; his mother, Mary Pederson of Waterloo, Iowa; a brother John Pederson of Waterloo, Iowa and three sisters, Bonnie Dalziel of Waterloo, Iowa, Debbie Jenkins of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Betty Hartline of Zion, Illinois.
