Clinton Grant Morrissey 1891-1951

FORMER MITCHELL FARMER SUCCUMBS

Osage – Funeral services for Clinton Grant Morrissey, 59, were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home. Burial at the Little Cedar Cemetery.

He died Friday following a heart ailment at a convalescent home in Cedar Falls where he had been a patient two years.

Mr. Morrissey was born at Stacyville, September 16, 1891, son of Timothy William and Julia Morrissey. He was married January 31, 1912, at Riceville to Pearl Cecilia Wallingford. She died in 1947.

Mr. Morrissey farmed in Mitchell County before coming to Waterloo about 16 years ago. He was employed for several years at the John Deere tractor works, was a member of the Methodist Church and the moose and Eagles lodges.

Survivors are a brother, Clifford, of Evansdale; 3 sons; Lawrence and Merle of waterloo; and Sgt. Virgil Lee Morrissey of the army and a daughter; Mrs. Emil Hendrickson of Riceville.
