SOMMER, CAUFMAN, WINEMAN, SUNNOCK, GRASMICK

CEDAR FALLS - Mark Steven Sommer, 59, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, July 5, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

He was born Nov. 24, 1951, in Scottsbluff, Neb., son of Harold and Betty L. Caufman Sommer. He married Donna Rae Wineman on June 10, 1972, in Scottsbluff.

Mr. Sommer graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering and earned a master's degree from the University of Illinois. He worked for John Deere in Ankeny, Quad Cities and Waterloo for a total of 36 years.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Leslie (Will) Sunnock of Verona, Wis., and Melissa Sommer of Cedar Falls; his parents of Scottsbluff: a sister, Mary Kay (Mike) Grasmick of Madison, Wis.; and niece and nephew, Ashley Grasmick and Kevin Grasmick, both of Madison.

Memorial services: 3 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date in Scottsbluff.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mark loved his family, driving his Corvette and Mustang convertible, riding his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle and spending time with good friends. He was an organ tissue donor.
