EVANSDALE - Jeremy Dean Richardson, 22, of Evansdale, died Saturday, June 25, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

He was born June 21, 1989, in Waterloo, son of Dean L. and Wendy K. Wetzel Richardson. He graduated from Waterloo East High School in 2007 and was owner and operator of Green Effect Lawn Care & Landscaping.

Survived by his parents of Evansdale; a sister, Courtney Richardson of Evansdale; a niece, Maci Richardson of Evansdale; maternal grandfathers, Scott Blackburn of Cedar Falls and Frank Wetzel of Minneapolis; maternal great-grandmother, Beatrice Blackburn of Cedar Falls; paternal grandfather, John Edward Marker of Waterloo; and paternal great-grandmother, Esther Holtzman of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Sheryl Blackburn; and paternal grandparents, Leland Richardson and Eleanor Marker.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bethany Bible Chapel, with inurnment at a later date in Washington Chapel Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

3 injured in accident

On Sunday, June 19, 2011 at approximately 3:03 AM, Waterloo Police responded to a one vehicle accident at Mullan Avenue and the Washington Street off ramp.

The vehicle, a 2009 Chevy Pickup, struck a cement wall and split in half. The driver and passengers were injured. The driver was identified as Jeremy Dean Richardson, age 21, of Evansdale. The passengers were identified as Tasha Nicole Lee, age 18, of Waterloo and Skylar Jake Garbers, age 19, of Waterloo. All three were transported to Covenant Medical Center.

The accident remains under investigation.

Three people in a 2009 Chevy Silverado pickup were injured when the eastbound pickup slammed into a retaining wall near the Bridges Retirement Center. The impact tore the cab from the truck bed.

They driver was identified as Jeremy Dean Richardson, 21, of 1625 Michigan Ave., Evansdale. The passengers were identified as Tasha Lee, 18, and Skyler Garbes, 19, both of 149 Borwig Lane, Waterloo. Richardson was the most seriously injured, police said. He and Garbes were ejected from the vehicle. Lee was trapped in the vehicle and was rescued by Waterloo Fire Rescue.

All three were transported to Covenant Medical Center.

The accident remains under investigation and no charges have yet been filed.
