WATERLOO - Florence Butterfield, 91, of Parkview Nursing and Rehab, died Sunday, June 26, at Allen Hospital.

She was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Ledyard, daughter of Howard and Myrtle Kelly Picht. She married Clifford "George" Butterfield on May 21, 1938, in Swea City.

Mrs. Butterfield graduated from Swea City High School in 1937 and had worked as a bookkeeper for 15 years at Walnut Ridge Baptist Academy, retiring in 1989. She had been a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church since 1964, and was a member of the choir. She also was past member of the Christian Business Women's Club.

Survived by her husband; two daughters, Georgia Ann Butterfield of Waterloo and Mary Jane (David) Willoughby of Hickory, N.C.; two grandsons, James (Rebecca) Willoughby of Payton, Colo., and Jon (Kat) Willoughby of Viera, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren, Naomi, Rachel, James, Kristin and Taylor Willoughby, and Conner and Porter Healy; and two brothers, Wayne (Darlys) Picht of Waverly and Burton (Jane) Picht of Kirksville, Mo.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Gerald, Raymond and Cecil Picht; and a sister, Geneva White.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Waterloo Christian School, in lieu of flowers.
