WATERLOO — Marguerite Maring Hinson, 99, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Waterloo, died May 30.

She was born April 5, 1912, daughter of Leon G. and Lillian Maring. She married James Nelson Hinson. He preceded her in death.

Survived by a daughter, Judith Hinson Zeiger (Bruce Martin) of Scottsdale; a son, James L. (Jean) of Gilbert, Ariz.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Lormor; and four brothers, Marvel Maring, Gerald Maring, Gordon Maring and Leon Maring.

Burial will be in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no services.

Memorials may be directed to Waterloo Center for the Arts.

Marguerite was active in the arts and music in Waterloo and was teaching art to residents of the Silverstone Care Facility in Scottsdale up until a week before her death.
