WATERLOO - Pattie Ortner, 73, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 18, at home.

She was born March 25, 1938, in Waterloo, daughter of Louis and Regina Thome Weber. She married Max Ortner on Sept. 17, 1956, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Ortner graduated from St. Mary's and received her licensed practical nurse degree from Hawkeye Community College, formerly Hawkeye Tech. She was employed at the Black Hawk County Home at old St. Francis, taught nursing at Hawkeye Tech for 13 years and was later employed with the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home until her retirement.

Survived by her husband; three sons, William of Waterloo, Thomas (Rebecca) of Porter, Texas, and Richard of Fredrick, Md.; four daughters, Peggy (Gene) Marmie and Mary Kay (Kirk) Loy, both of Cedar Falls, Donna (Dave) Hayes of Waterloo and Jeannine (Howard) Wilson of Evansdale; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way; a brother, Jerry (Marcia) Weber of Waterloo; and two sisters, Nancy (Glen) Kuehl of Cedar Falls and Becky (Bob) Rea of Ontario, Canada.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Bob Weber.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church, Mother Angelica EWTN Show or Compassus Hospice.
