WATERLOO - Robert Gene Christensen, 51, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 18, at home.

He was born July 14, 1959, in Waterloo, son of Gene and Carol Frank Redmon. He was adopted and raised by Charles and Carol Christensen. He married Susane Meyers, and they later divorced.

Mr. Christensen was a short order cook at many area restaurants.

Survived by a daughter, Karisa Meyers of Houston; his mother and stepfather, Carol Christensen-Showers and Kenneth Showers of Waterloo; three brothers, Chuck (Janell) of North Liberty, Steven (Tammy) of Cedar Falls and Jim (Yolanda) of Johnston; and three sisters, Mary Cornwall of Cedar Falls, Veronica (Dale) Carroll of Waterloo and Teresa (Pete) Ramey of Holland.

Preceded in death by his father and his adoptive father.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Spangler Cemetery, Aurora.
